Ingredients
- Ingredients for dough
- 300g (2½ cups) all-purpose flour
- 5g (1½ tsp) instant yeast
- 15g (1 Tbsp.) sugar
- 150ml (2/3 cup) warm water around 40°C/105°F, noticeably warm but not hot
- 1 tsp neutral oil (vegetable, canola, etc.)
- 1/2 tsp baking powder (added after the first rise)
- For the fillings you can get creative there is not a lot you can do wrong with Baozi you can even stuff it with cream cheese and sugar to make it a desert.
- What I do is typicall some blend of finely chopped veggies and meat in a marinade over night. You can use this as inspiration as this is what I normally use.
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Shaoxing wine
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tsp sugar
- White pepper to taste
- Enough Pixian doubanjiang for taste (user discretion)
