"Big cookie" (sheet pan cookies)
Submitted by Jake and Hannah Nelson - added 8/27/26
Recipe from Jake's family. Great for pleasing crowds at parties or ward activities. It's easier to make than regular cookies and turns out perfect every time!
Ingredients
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips (or m&ms)
Instructions
- Add the wet ingredients (first five on the list) to a large bowl and mix together with egg beaters or a stand mixer. Add the remaining ingredients to the same bowl and mix it all together until well combined but not over mixed.
- Grease a cookie sheet and spread the dough into the cookie sheet. Leave about an inch between pan edges as dough will spread to fill corners.
- Bake for 14 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- If you want thicker cookies, bake in a 9x13 baking dish instead and increase bake time to 20 minutes.
